I forget how alive I feel in Istanbul- a city straddled by two continents, divine food, sights and sounds that awaken the senses, and history. We were so fortunate to have lived in Ortakoy and for the experience, our daughters had attending MEFIS. While our time was brief over the Thanksgiving four-day weekend, we saw Leyla, Serap, Malcolm and others at MEFIS shared a luxurious meal with Dr. John and had a short stay with Corey and Vani. We also visited the Andy Warhol and Picasso exhibits, savored our Turkish breakfasts, and meandered through the Gran Bazaar.
Istanbul will continue to be a place we return to as both Mike and I would agree that it always has a place in our hearts. And…of course, the shopping is by far the best I’ve experienced in any city especially when it comes to craftsmanship and trades passed down through generations. Let us know if you ever need an itinerary, as we've covered a lot of ground in Istanbul and realize there's always more to discover.
